Cornerstone: Christ the Master Teacher

I looked in the Bible Dictionary to find what I could find about Christ being a teacher. In doing so,
I was able to flip through all of the topics that were appointed to Jesus Christ’s name. There were
so many, just to list a few, “Jesus Christ, Atonement through.” “Jesus Christ, Baptism of.”
“Jesus Christ Betrayal of.” “Jesus Christ, Creator.” “Jesus Christ, Relationships with the Father.”
The list continues. I looked at these and realized that this is exactly why Christ is the master teacher.
In looking at his atonement, we find the example of perfect sacrifice. Through his baptism, we find the
example of perfect obedience and the importance of the order of ordinances. In Jesus Christ,
betrayal we find the example of Jesus standing up in a world where even his disciples and friends
betrayed him. In Jesus Christ, Creator, we find an example of the powers that we have all been
endowed with. In his relationships with the Father, we find an example of a man that even being
perfect relied on the Father’s will and plan for him. He led His whole life as an example and therefore
as a teacher.

About Me

My name is Caitlin Olmstead. I was born in Valley Forge, PA and lived there until I was 14 years old. After that, I moved to Gilbert, AZ where I attended high school. In high school I participated in a lot of theater and a lot of choir. Those two activities took up much of my time there.

I came to BYU-Idaho to study Music Education with an emphasis in Choir. On my off-track I went home and got married and then my husband and I traveled around the United States working as decorative painters on different temples. After that, we returned to BYU-Idaho. When we came back I changed my major to Psychology.

I am still thrilled to learn all about the methods of education because I know that it will be helpful for me as a parent. Here I will share what has been the start of a journey of life-long teaching and learning.
